Hand Hammered Tibetan Yoga Singing Bowl, Wood Stricker & Mat

Tibetan singing bowls, also known as Himalayan bowls, date back to at least 3000 years ago, and are used in many healing, religious, and spiritual practices and rituals, including meditation, chakra therapy, Reiki, treatments for illnesses, and yoga.

Often played to start and end a yoga practice session to bring us into the present moment, transporting us to calmness, stillness, and peaceful hearts.

In Tibetan tradition, the powerful vibrations of the singing bowl respond to the sound of the universal creation and inner consciousness, and almost everyone agrees that they induce a calming, meditative, and restorative experience.

To clean wipe your singing bowl with a soft, clean cloth to keep dust from building up

Method 1:

To play the bowl, sit with a straight spine, and hold the bowl in your flat hand; keep your fingers extended and avoid cupping your hand or curling your fingers around the base.

You play the bowl by gently but firmly circling the outside rim with the wooden striker. Once it starts to sing you can slow your movement; the bowl will continue to vibrate and sing even after you’ve stopped circling with the wooden striker.

Method 2:

Place the the bowl on the cushion pad provided and strike the outside of the bowl with the wooden striker, using a short sharp strike.

It sings beautifully!

I got this as a present for my wife, and it’s the first hand-beaten singing bowl we’ve ever tried. I love the deep reverberating song it sings! Now I find myself playing it all the time :)

Thank you David for your review and we hope that both you and your wife find relaxation and calmness from your Tibetan Singing Bowl.

The bowl was nice overall. However, the cushion it came with was not flat. The mallet was not as nicely finished as shown in the photo.
